Shadow Minister Visits Aylesbury

February 23, 2007

Yesterday, the Shadow Minister for the Environment and Rural Affairs, Peter Ainsworth MP was in Aylesbury to meet Councillors and residents. Amongst those present were Cllrs Abdul Khailq and Carole Patternoster and Watermead and Elmhurst Conservative, Sue Severn. He visited the Council offices in Exchange street to look at a model and plans for the new Waterside development, and then went on a walkabout down the canal and along to Vale Park to see for himself what development was going where. He then went off to a farm in Weston Turville who are diversifying into other areas. As well as beef farming they have a livery and also make handmade chicken coops for people who want to keep their own chickens. The Bucks Herald came down to take a video of this which will be on their website.

Graffiti in Elm Farm and Mandeville underpass

February 9, 2007

After receiving letters and e-mails from residents in Elm Farm and Mandeville about graffiti on the underpass, we have spoken to local MP David Lidington about the problem.

David supported our campaign and told us about a successful project in the centre of Aylesbury where Crimestoppers successfully joined the battle against graffiti.  He’ll be meeting the head of Thames Valley Crimestoppers in the near future to raise the issue with him.

We’ll keep you posted!
